Los Altos Hills Community Fiber (LAHCF)

LAHCF provides fiber broadband to Los Altos Hills residents and surrounding communities. It is working toward serving all 3000 properties in LAH as well as nearby communities. It currently has about 40 connected subscribers and has funded projects to serve another 100-200 users. Projects in the research phase will serve another 400-600 homes.

Status: Providing 1 Gbps and 10 Gbps service since April, 2019.

Backhaul: Zayo and Crown Castle dark fiber peering with Hurricane Electric in Santa Clara/Fremont Data centers

Old La Honda Community Fiber (OLHCF)

OLHCF serves over 50 homes on 6 miles of Old La Honda Road in Woodside, California, between Portola Valley Road and Skyline Boulevard.

Status: Providing 1 Gbps and 10 Gbps service since June, 2022.

Backhaul: AT&T Wavelength Service

Funding Model: Neighborhood and resident funded

Madrone Broadband

Madrone serves over 100 homes on more than 5 miles of roads in the Las Cumbres and Skyline Ridge communities, located along Skyline Boulevard in the Santa Cruz Mountains.

Status: Backbone construction complete; full operation planned 2022 Q4.

Backhaul: Zayo Wavelength Service; standby 1.5 Gbps licensed wireless

Adobe Creek Networks

Adobe Creek will serve 25 households on upper Page Mill Road in Palo Alto, California.

Status: Design phase. Full operation planned 2022 Q4.

Service Tiers: Residential service at 10, 100, or 1000 Mbps; Small business service at up to 5 Gbps; Dedicated service, burstable.

Backhaul: City of Palo Alto Utilities dark fiber; standby 2 Gbps wireless

Funding Model: 15-year note paid from monthly fees
